Koksilah River Provincial Park is located west of Shawnigan Lake on southern Vancouver Island. Adjacent to the Koksilah River, this undeveloped park in the Vancouver Island Forest Reserve offers good hiking, fishing and swimming opportunities. Caution – there is no designated swimming area at this park and no lifeguards on duty.
The park is used mainly on the week-ends by residents of southern Vancouver Island who come to the park to hike on the rustic trails and enjoy the river viewscape. There are a number of good existing trail routes that lead to the river and throughout the forest and park. There is no formal picnic area and camping and fires are not permitted in the park. There are opportunities for canoeing or kayaking and fishing is permitted as per provincial and federal fishing regulations.
